Bucktooth Burl - BattleBots Season 2 Competitor
After joining the Saskatoon Combat Robotics Club, one of the veteran members invited me on a trip to San Francisco for the world Robogames competition. The entire event was a blast! Watching robots destroy each other live is far more exhilarating than it is on TV. I recall hiding behind a baby stroller at one point because I was scared of Last Rights ripping through the arena ...again.
On the last day of the competition I swore that I'd come back with my own bot! Then, BattleBots announced that they were looking for submissions for Season 2 of the show, and I couldn't resist giving it a shot.

A few months later, I received the call saying we've been accepted to be on the show. The next few weeks were a frantic hurry of purchasing parts and having them expedited to Canada. We had the electronics components specified, but continued working on a realistic mechanical model of the robot. I say realistic because the weight of our original design was unknown, and its manufacturability wasn't entirely taken into account.
